On Monday 25th March, Class 8 had the opportunity to visit the Oriental Museum in Durham. It was a fantastic day where we all learned how place can affect art.
We started off by looking at different places around the world and the type of artefacts that can be found. Then, we documented our own artefacts by drawing, measuring and writing about what we thought they were and what they might have been used for.
After that, we did some drama activities where we got to dress up in costumes and act out an old Japanese story about how Mount Fuji was created. Finally, we took everything we had learnt and seen from the day and used it to help us make a wonderful sculpture which included light.
As you can clearly see we had an amazing day!
