Keeping the germs away – How to be an expert handwasher
On Tuesday 15th January, our school staff nurse, Kay, came into visit our Reception children. The aim of her visit was to show the children how to wash their hands correctly.
Kay used ‘pretend germs’ and showed the children how to clean their hands. She then checked how well the children had managed to do this by using a glow bug. When the light was shone on their hands, if all the purple was gone, the children had washed them properly.

Kay will be back in school next Tuesday afternoon to visit Class 3 and Class 4, and then again for Class 5 on Tuesday 5th February.
I wonder if the children in these classes will be able to wash their hands as well as the Reception children!
